To provide an update on the revenue budget 2002/2003.

274/2002 The Cabinet endorsed the remedial action outlined in paragraph 3.4 of the report and instructed the Management Team to implement further proposals outlined in the Action Plan (Section 5) in order to contain expenditure within approved limits.

Cabinet has the responsibility to ensure effective budgetary control to remain within the approved limits set by council. Where a budget overspend is forecast, Cabinet supported by the Management Team must identify measures to remove the excess expenditure.
