Purpose:
To report on the proposals for the Children
and Young People Plan prior to formal approval at Council as part
of the Council's policy framework.

Decision:
63/2009 The Cabinet agreed to refer the
Children and Young People's Plan to the Medway Children's Trust
Board and Full Council for consideration and approval.
Reasons for the decision:
The Children and Young People's Plan is one of
the key documents in the Council's policy framework. The production
and publication of the Plan by the Council is a statutory duty
under the Children Act 2004.This Plan sets the vision and strategic
direction for Medway Council and the partners of the Medway
Children's Trust to collectively improve children's lives and
ensure Medway is a great place in which to live, learn and grow
up.
