The report will present an outline business
case for the disposal of the Queens Court site in Rainham and
development of 8 units of supported accommodation, plus 2 units for
shared ownership, for people with learning disability and complex
needs, alongside a development of general housing units.
22/2009 The Cabinet recommended to Full
Council that it agrees to the disposal of the Queens Court site, at
the best price reasonably obtainable with conditions attached to
ensure the development of affordable supported housing and
delegates to the Assistant Director of Housing and Corporate
Services, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Finance, to
finalise the terms of the transaction.
23/2009 The Cabinet agreed to delegate authority to the Director of
Children and Adults to agree a variance to the existing care
support contract with The Avenues Trust for the provision of care
support services at the property in line with personalisation
policy.
To facilitate the provision of affordable
supported housing, general needs housing and release capital
receipts from underutilised and potentially surplus
assets.
