Decision:

210/2008 The Cabinet noted the performance of the Highways Maintenance Contractor, Fitzpatrick's, as detailed in Appendix 1 of the report.
211/2008 The Cabinet agreed to award a one (1) year extension to Fitzpatrick's Highways Minor Works Contract, in accordance with the conditions of contract, which was originally procured through the council's procurement procedures.
212/2008 The Cabinet approved the adoption of the revised Key Performance Indicators for the performance and management of the Highways Minor Works Contract as detailed in Appendix 2 of the report.

Reasons for the decision:

Medway Council is contractually obliged to consider the performance of the Highways Minor Works Contractor annually and to consider awarding a yearly extension after each completed year of service delivery.Fitzpatrick's have performed well, but clearly wish to improve their performance incrementally year on year. To this end a revised set of Key Performance Indicators have been agreed between officers and the contractor, which is more focused on the quality and performance of what is a high profile frontline service.
