Purpose:
This report will seek authority to issue a
draft development framework for public consultation purposes that
will guide future development on Corporation Street,
Rochester.
Relevant Overview and Scrutiny Committee: Regeneration, Community
and Culture.
Decision:
154/2008 The Cabinet authorised the release of
the draft Corporation Street Development Framework for public
consultation subject to the introduction of bus priority at traffic
signals (where possible) rather than the introduction of dedicated
bus lanes along the length of Corporation Street.
Reasons for the decision:
An adopted development framework will provide
planning and design guidance for developers within the context of
an overall concept for the area. This will help maximise the
benefits of development for both historic Rochester and Rochester
Riverside. Consultation on a draft brief is an important stage in
the adoption process.
