To consider the revisions to the Housing Allocations Policy following consideration by the Community Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

52/2008 The Cabinet adopted the Housing Allocation Policy as set out in appendix 3 to the report.
53/2008 The Cabinet agreed to review the outcomes of the new policy annually after adoption to inform part of the wider housing strategy process and to monitor its achievements.

A decision to adopt the policy will help to ensure that there is greater transparency in the allocation of social housing, legislative requirements are met and that those people who are in the greatest need can expect to be re-housed within a reasonable timescale.
