| | | The Licensing Manager introduced a report that asked the Licensing and Safety Committee to consider the government consultation paper on the revised guidance to the Licensing Act 2003 and to agree a response. |

| | | The Licensing and Safety Committee agreed in full the proposed response to the consultation paper by the Licensing Manager contained in section 4 of the report.

| It was noted that the guidance cannot be used to amend the regulations accompanying the Licensing Act. However, it was agreed that representations be made to the appropriate body with regard to the currently impractical timescales for the giving of notice and the subsequent period allowed for objections to be raised by the police in relation to temporary event notices. Representations should also be made with regard to the inadequate size requirements of the public notice to be displayed on site by an applicant for a premises licence. |
