Medway Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP) Annual Report 2019-20 pdf icon PDF 191 KB

The purpose of this report is to present the first Medway Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP) Annual Report 2019-20 to the Health and Wellbeing Board. Whilst the predominant focus of the report is on the work of the MSCP since it was set up on 2 September 2019, the report provides a summary of activity across the whole year and includes work undertaken by the Medway Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) in preparation for the transition to the new arrangements. The report summarises the progress that has been made in 2019-20 and the plans to develop this further in 2020-21.


The report also provides an update on the MSCP Business Plan 2020-22.


This report was initially considered by the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 1 December 2020.

Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board (KMSAB) Annual Report 2019-2020 pdf icon PDF 266 KB

This report introduces the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board’s (KMSAB) Annual Report for April 2019–March 2020. The Annual Report sets out the responsibilities and structure of the Board and details how the multi-agency partnership delivered against its priorities for the year. The report also provides information pertaining to Safeguarding Adults Reviews, funding arrangements and safeguarding activity information. An easy read version of the report has been commissioned and will be made available on the Board’s website.


The Annual Report was endorsed by the KMSAB on 24 November 2020. The Annual Report was considered by the Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 10 December 2020.

Community Safety Partnership Plan 2020-2024, Refreshed Action Plan 2021-2022 pdf icon PDF 225 KB

Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) are under a duty to produce a Community Safety Plan to formulate and implement a strategy to reduce crime and disorder, combat substance misuse, and reduce re-offending. This report provides information on the Plan, which forms part of the Council’s Policy Framework, to cover the period from 2020 to 2024, and specifically the refreshed Action Plan.

"Health Inequality in Medway" Director of Public Health's Annual Report 2019-20 pdf icon PDF 292 KB

Directors of Public Health (DsPH) have a statutory requirement to produce public health reports. These reports are the DsPH’s professional statement about the health of the local community.


To coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Marmot Report, ‘Fair Society, Healthy Lives’, Medway’s 2019-20 Annual Public Health Report focuses on health inequalities that persist within the unitary authority boundary. The report sets out:

·       Key information relating to the causes of health inequalities

·       Ways in which the Council is working with key stakeholders to act to address the key health inequality determinates

·       Recommendations for future actions to address the root causes of health inequalities in Medway

·       The manner in which the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted vulnerable groups in Medway and the Council’s initial response to support its residents.


Following the Health and Wellbeing Board on 16 February 2021, this report will be presented to the Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 11 March 2021 and Cabinet on 30 March 2021.

Emotional Health and Wellbeing Contract and the Local Transformation Plan Update pdf icon PDF 1 MB

This annual paper updates the Board on the Medway Young person’s Wellbeing Service contract and developments through the Local Transformation Plan for CYP Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing for 2019/20.


This paper also highlights the direction of travel for 2021 to 2024 in meeting NHS Long Term Plan targets for children and young people across Kent and Medway.
